Turmeric Powder
- Appearance: Turmeric rhizomes should be dry, well-developed, and have the characteristic shape and color of the variety. They can be in their natural state or machine-polished.
- Color: The rhizomes should be yellowish-brown on the outside and bright yellow on the inside.
- Odor and Flavor: Turmeric should have a characteristic pungent, bitter taste and aroma.
- Foreign Matter: Whole turmeric should be free from living and dead insects, insect fragments, rodent contamination, and other visible foreign matter.
- Insect Damage: The proportion of insect-damaged matter should not exceed 1% by weight.
